1st and 4th

It is very hard to type this, but these boys are in the 1st and 4th grade this year. It's true what they say, ya know. You have no idea how fast it really goes until you are already done with it.

I have these boys so trained. When we left for school, I said, "Okay guys, we have to take our 'first day of school' picture. This is what I came out to. They knew exactly where to go!! lol!

We are so blessed to all go the same place for our first day, St. George's! This isn't your normal first day of school either. There is a trio playing outside the chapel as arrive, a photo booth and the Gryphon all to welcome you to the new school year. Much different than my first day of reading class lists taped to the doors trying to figure out which classroom you were in for the rest of the year!

And of course, I had to get a picture with the BEST teams on the planet! We didn't make Pete hold pom poms this year.

Evan and Luke, I pray this is the best year ever. One that you grow into confident, compassionate, young gentlemen! First and fourth grade, here we come!!!

MOOOOOOOOOOOO

So this summer one of the teachers at Camp Gryphon mentioned the annual Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-a to Evan who in turns freaks out! Free Chick-fil-a?? Sign him up! For those of you who either don't live near a CFA, or have never heard of this, on this day, if you dress like a cow, you get free Chick-fil-a.

You know that saying, "There is no such thing as a free meal"? Yeah...there's really not.

Because this is what we had to do to get a free meal on 7/11/17.

Yeah....that.

Luke refused to wear the nose and ears I made him (not shocking), so I decided momma deserved a free dinner too. This is Evan hi reader I hope you are enjoying it! Now, Back to my butifull loving amazing mom. I walk away from my computer for 5 minutes...

The whole way to CFA, Luke kept saying "This is going to be so awk-ward." I was too impressed with his correct use of awkward to correct him by saying, "no, it's going to be FUN. This is fun. FUN dammit!"

Well, when we got there, needless to say...we went waaaaaaaay overboard on the whole dressing up thing. Even Evan, my extrovert, who never minds all the attention being on him said, "Mom, I think we went a little overboard." Well honey, I hate you are just now noticing, but your mom tends to go overboard on almost everything she does.

Dear Chick-Fil-A, Now that I have experienced Dress Like A Cow Day, I have a couple suggestions.
1. If you are dressed head to toe like a cow, you get whatever you want off the menu. You earned that delicious chicken that might be laced with crack it's so addictive.
2. If you see a mom with two children dressed like cows hiding behind her back, give her a little support, like a free bottle of wine. Cheer her on...pat her on the back...acknowledge her dedication...with wine.
3. If someone comes in with a cow picture taped to their chest, they get a house salad..with no chicken. That's not dedication people.

Redbirds

We were able to attend the boys' first Redbirds game because of John's very generous work. Not only were we able to attend several games, we got to sit in a suite. My children have no idea what it means to watch baseball without free food and air conditioning. #spoilt

The boys did SO good...the first time we went. The second time there was a two hour rain delay, so I can't blame them. But they stayed interested in the game and cheered really loud for the team. It was very special for me to watch not only them experience their first game but watch them experience it with John. 

At the end of the game, the boys got to meet Rocky!! The Redbirds even retweeted our picture. The boys thought they were BIG time after that. 

I hope there are many many more games in our future!

Mother's Day

When you are spoiled 365 days a year, every day feels like Mother's Day!

My first Mother's Day as a mom of 2...and today.

We had a very busy Mother's Day weekend. It all started on Friday with Luke's Mother's Day performance. He had a special part in Zipadee Do Da. This performance is a highlight for any St. George's mom. Super sweet.

We were so lucky Grandmom and Gran got to join in the celebration. Luke was so proud to give each of them a flower.

Luke also wrote a book about me! Side note: Kroger is not my favorite place...

I also received some sweet presents from all my boys!

We ended the weekend listening to some great ROCK music by the oldest.

From zip-a-dee-doo-dah to a little rock and roll, this Mother's Day surely didn't disappoint. I got to spend it with my favorite people doing my favorite thing...watching them shine.
