Halfway to an adult

I just can't believe it. Evan...my first born...is half way to an adult.

NINE!!!

Evan's birthday fell on Good Friday this year, which means the boys and I had off! Sadly, John had to work, but we still got to celebrate with him later that night.

He kicked off his birthday on Thursday by celebrating with his class. He brought donuts, his favorite treat.

On Friday morning, we had enough donuts left over to have them again! I mean...you only turn 9 once. :)

Some grandparents joined us for lunch on Friday. We had Evan's favorite lunch, Chick-Fil-A and cupcakes. The whole meal was a hit! AND he got another wish and some presents...

Glad at least the kids are trained to look at the camera. :P

Lastly, we met some friends at El Mezcal, his favorite dinner spot where he filled up on tortilla chips and tacos.

After a VERY active night of nerf gun battles, video games, and movies, we ended with a cookie cake in his favorite color...pink. #liveinyourskin

Evan, Daddy and I could not be more proud of you. You put your whole heart in everything you do. Whether it's rocking out on the drums, or being a part of your baseball team, you give everything you have every single time. Your heart is bigger than your body. You love big. You laugh big. You live big. I pray you keep your empathetic heart and passion for life. I love you more.
