Evan's 1st Christmas Program

Evan participated in his first Christmas program this year at St. George's. His sweet JK class performed for family and friends on Wednesday, December 5 in the chapel.

Evan was chosen for a speaking part. I was amazed that I only had to tell him once what his lines were. He has them memorized from then on. Everyone that knows Evan knows he isn't shy. He hasn't met a stranger and loves attention. So being on stage with a microphone and speaking in front of a couple hundred of people was nothing for him.

He did GREAT with his lines. They made a slight change on the song before his part. Sweet Lindsey had to pass out bells before the song. Once the bells were passed out, Evan said his lines. Well after the dress rehearsal, the teachers decided to add some background music while she passed out bells. Since he only practiced that a couple times with music it threw him off. Once he got the microphone he was confused by the music. As soon as it came on his little bottom lip went so far out and his sweet eyes started to well up. I was so worried they had forgotten his lines. Once he realized it was background music, he recovered but had some nervous energy. He tapped the mic with his hand and on his chin while he waited. Needless to say, everyone was aware the mic was on.
Sadly, the music to the song started before the said his lines. Evan exclaimed, "Not yet!!" His music teacher knew Evan still hadn't said his lines, so she cued the sound guys  to cut the music. Even after all that Evan wasn't rattled. He said his lines slowly and clearly with a huge smile on his face. I was so so so very proud of him.

He did not sleep well the night before and thirty minutes is a long time for a 4 year old to stand on stage...Poor sleepy guy.

We are so blessed to have so many people who love Evan. All three grandmothers and Pop were able to come for his performance. He got rave reviews from all that attended.

The entire musical was great. The kids sang beautifully and look adorable on stage. It is one of those milestones in having kids; his first little Christmas musical!!
