How you know you BOY is almost 5 years old

Five sounds so....OLD. It's not a toddler. It's not preschool. He is FIVE. That's school age. A kindergartener in the fall.

Now, maybe other people have experienced this. Maybe this is just my child. But there are some signs my child is approaching five.

*Almost every sentences ends with HI-YA!

*I get scared anytime I hear him say, "Hey mom, watch this!"

*He's starting to eat a lot....of a few types of food. The little dude can put away an entire meal and then ask for a protein bar (200 calories) for dessert.

*Our furniture is not furniture anymore. It is spring boards for some sort of jump, trick, flip, battle.

*Speaking of battles, all his toys are separated into 'good guys' and 'bad guys', and they must battle. He cannot just have good guy without a bad guy to go with it. Their roles are interchangeable depending on his mood.

*This literally was our conversation Sunday morning at breakfast. Evan was at the table and I was at the stove.
Me: Yes.
Evan: Can you smell right now?
Me: Yes.
Evan: What does it smell like over there?
Me: Our house.
Evan: Well I tooted so it smells gross. I might need to hold my breath for that.

*Evan's voice goes from high pitched baby talk to low grumbly monster speak. His normal voice is used about 15% of the day.

*Most everything I tell him ends by him saying, "Mooooooom, I know that already."

*He still lets me hug and kiss him as many times as I want.
