Gimme a D!!!

This year I had a whole big plan for Father's Day morning. Sadly, a sick little boy took priority. Evan woke up at 5:45 (after going to bed very late and getting up two or three time) pretty sick. Thankfully, it was a one time event. He's eaten two full meals and played around the house like he's hyped up on caffeine, but non the less, it derailed my 'breakfast in bed' plan.

I did send John back to bed at 5:45 so he could rest. I sat up with E making sure he didn't get sick again. That counts, right?? Watching 4 episodes of Pocoyo has to count for something!!

Even puny, Evan was super excited to give John his presents. The one I was most excited to give him was the DAD pictures.

I bought a "D" and an "A" at Hobby Lobby for the pictures. John has been leaving early for work which made this project easier. I knew if I didn't do this first thing in the morning, I would never get a clean clothes shot! These boys attract dirt! Armed with my camera and a bag of M&Ms (my kids have learned the art of bribery) we set off into the back yard. Evan was first and I only had to take about 10 pictures to get a good shot of him. We then tried the A. I thought this would warm Luke up to the idea. I am actually very very surprised how few shots it took. I know my lighting was off, but again, I was taking what I could get. Then came Luke's D. Oh wowza. This is where I took a majority of the SEVENTY shots. He was very cooperative and said "cheeeeeeeeeese"the entire time, but hardly once had the letter up or face toward me. The D you see is the best we could get.

I put these three in a frame from the HobLob. Did you know you can pull the 40% coupon up on your smart phone!!?? She asked me if I had a coupon and I almost said "Ain't nobody got time for dat" but chose to shake my head instead. She said, "You have one of those fancy computer phones?" Do I need to tell you she was the sweetest little white haired lady? She said, "Just pull up the internet (I really wanted her to say interwebz) and I can get the coupon code off there." I mean, how sweet is that? What a great company, right? Encouraging savings with their customers. I applaud them.

Hopefully he'll smile when he looks at it. I smile when I look at the outtakes.

This is what happened when I said "Show me that letter!" Yeah, that was productive.
